About the Event
The Effective Altruism Istanbul Summit 2026 will take place on October 24, 2026 at HAN Spaces Etiler in Istanbul.
Effective altruism is a philosophy and social movement that works on issues such as global poverty, animal welfare, and artificial intelligence, and looks for the most effective ways to solve the world’s problems. The event, which will also bring together the members of Effective Altruism Türkiye, is aimed both at people who have long been engaged with the principles of effective altruism and at individuals just beginning to explore how they can contribute to the world more effectively through their careers, time, and donations.
Through talks, conversations, and networking opportunities, the event aims to spark new ideas, deepen engagement, and strengthen the effective altruism community in Turkey.
Our event will be held largely in Turkish.
What is the cost?
Our event is free of charge.
Application Process
Applications for the event are now open, and the process will proceed as follows:
- Completing the application document: We will ask you to fill out an application document with your personal information and areas of interest.
- Application review: We will carefully review all applications and respond with a positive or negative decision within 15 business days.
- Completing your registration: If your application is accepted, we will send you an email containing the event details.

- Motivated students, professionals, and people in the process of a career change who want to create a meaningful impact in the world and learn how to do so more effectively
- Those who enjoy thinking about global poverty, animal welfare, artificial intelligence, and other problems that threaten our civilization
- People of all ages and levels who want to learn about effective altruism
- Effective altruism enthusiasts who want to see projects they can join and explore specific cause areas in more depth
- Members of Effective Altruism Türkiye

- Intermediate sessions on the world’s most pressing problems and potential solutions

- Cause-area meetups and social events where peers, mentors, and potential collaborators can come together
All event details will be shared on the Swapcard app closer to the conference date.
